INFORMATION ON THE IMPLEMENTATION OF EU PROJECTS
Project title:
Autonomous robot for tomato harvesting, leaf pruning and spraying with greenhouse data collection function.
Purpose and intended effect of the project:
The aim of the project is to develop and commercialise an autonomous tomato harvesting robot in greenhouses equipped with a vision system and sensors to collect data prevailing in the greenhouse. It will move on a running platform adapted to the greenhouse infrastructure (running rails or ground movement). The basic version of the robot will be equipped with a tomato picker, while the extended version will have additional arms for trimming branches (cutting with a hot blade for decontamination) and spraying. The robot is expected to replace human labour and provide consistent harvesting performance solving the problem of rising labour costs and labour shortages. The payback time of the robot in Germany, for example, is less than four years. The product will be offered in Poland and abroad. Due to the shorter payback time on the purchase of the robot in countries with higher costs
work will be offered in countries such as Germany, the Netherlands, France, the UK, Japan, the USA, etc.
